Book Details:
Book Description:
Miriam Zook has loved David Miller her whole life, and she confessed her feelings the night before he moved to Indiana and joined the Mennonite church. Miriam, having been baptized into the Amish faith, makes an income by painting beautiful vignettes of Amish life. She has never married, since no one ever compared to David, and, as she is an only child, this concerns the women in her family greatly. Now, seven years after leaving, David is back in Willow Creek to embrace his Amish roots and join the church. Miriam’s heart awakens, but can she dare to hope that he will also embrace her?
My Thoughts: Wonderful
Miriam's Little Gentleman is such a wonderful and sweet read. It is the story of Miriam and David, who have been friends for years and have shared feelings for each other. However, a very unfortunate incident six years ago resulted in David leaving. His return, which brings old hurts and truths to the surface, causes mixed feelings for Miriam. As she and David work on renewing a friendship and possibly more, roadblocks and unexpected events are thrown in their path, which had me turning pages to see how everything would turn out.
The story is a page turner that had me experiencing a myriad of emotions, including frustration, sadness, shock, smiles, and sighs of relief. The story beautifully blends faith, hope, forgiveness, second chances, and love, making it one that I highly recommend.
