Book Description:
It's love at first sight for Adam Slaybaugh, yet while Joanna Grebel finds him attractive and is intrigued when he declares his interest, she's less certain of the potential for a romantic future together. Instead, she proposes they be "just friends," but Adam's not willing to settle for anything less than a romantic relationship. In response, he leaves Lancaster County for Florida, and soon after, Joanna begins courting Jacob Byer--someone she deems a much more suitable match.
When Adam returns to Lancaster County years later to pursue a career in his grandparents' successful home renovation business, he finds Joanna suffering from a broken heart. Misunderstandings and matchmaking schemes begin a tender journey of healing and romance--but is Adam's love enough to finally win Joanna over?
My Thoughts: Sweet and Heartwarming
I always enjoy a good romance, and When They Met Again fits the bill completely.
When Joanna and Adam first meet, Adam is smitten, but Joanna isn't on the same page, and even as they continually end up in each other's company, they remain on different sides of the feelings fence. However, unexpected events enter the mix, causing a shift in their relationship. Some of it is painful, some is entertaining, and some is endearing, which makes for a very touching story.
Along with Joanna and Adam are some wonderful and fun characters, as well as a not-so-likeable character, who add much to their story. The story is further enhanced by strong themes of family, faith, love, and second chances, making it a sweet, enjoyable, and heartwarming read.
Book Quote:
As you go through this difficult time, ... Remember, the one who loves and cares for you the most is leading you. I hope you will find encouragement in His guidance and also in the following verse: For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isaiah 41:13
