WHY CAN'T IT JUST BE EASY?

 WHY CAN'T IT JUST BE EASY?

When you receive a harsh word or a reprimand

It doesn't matter if it's substantiated or all for naught

It's not the time to fire back or take a stand

And it's not the time to get angry or distraught

This is the time to stop and reflect

This is the time to make sure you don't speak

And this is the time to forgive and forget 

Instead of firing back with an emotional  critique

Even when you struggle and ask why can't this be easy

This is the time to show God's love without feeling uneasy

Just follow His example of forgiving seventy times seven

Maintaining a temperate spirit knowing that your Father in Heaven

 

Sees you and is saying, " Well done, my good and faithful servant,"

"Yours is the reward if you continue to serve Me with fervence."
